This cake is absolutely one of the whole family's favorite. I've baked it for holidays and birthdays and special occasions of every sort. I made one for home and another to take to work. My boss was so impressed that she offered me to bake the desserts for Izumi.
I got the recipe for this one of a Red hat society cook book and decided it was too sweet so I adapted it and now it's a compilation of two books and some of my ingenuity.
My cousin zarely keeps asking for the recipe I'm gonna post it on my facebook page.

French strawberry cake
Really good cake! strawberry's are in season and I added a bit of sour cream to the chantilly. the cake was very light and had a light vanilla scent.
I took some to work and they loved it. It was devoured in minutes. The great thing about this cake is that it can be filled with any other fruit. Raspberry, peach, pineapple or any other of the sort.
I'm making a tiramisu next week. It's a family favorite. So I expect good things.

Coconut cake with pineapple cream cheese frosting.
Not my best result... To my defense. I got the call about the earthquake in California as I was mixing it. And kinda put it aside to call my relatives and make sure everyone was alright.
The flavors were all there the consistency is what failed, it was tight and clumpy. Almost like fruit cake. Instead of airy and light.
I'm going to make it again. I've done it before and It's one of my favorites, once I filled it with lemon curd and dusted it with powdered sugar and coconut. And it tasted like one of my mom's child hood favorite's.
Next week I'm making a French strawberry cake. And I am taking some to work. So I'll report back the results.

Chocolate feather bed cake!
That's what chocolate clouds must taste like. The cake was beyond amazing. Very airy, not too sweet and absolutely delicious. The book suggests that you double the batter and do a single batch of the frosting. I did, half the batter and double the frosting. I used semisweet chocolate and the color was deep brown and melt in your mouth consistency. I had enough cake for approximately six people. It tasted better after left out of the refrigerator for a half hour or so. When cold. It was to heavy.
Next week I'm doing a coconut cake that has coconut milk and coconut extract with a pineapple cream cheese frosting and some sweetened coconut shavings. Happy Easter everyone.
